Miyakawa Taisei (宮川大聖, formerly Miyakawa-kun みやかわくん) is a Japanese singer-songwriter born on July 11, 1996 in Shikinejima, a small remote island off the coast of Tokyo. He started his internet activity on Vine, posting pen spinning and funny videos with his school friends. In 2015, Miya started posting Vocaloid song covers on Nico Nico Douga and YouTube, marking the beginning of his music career. His most popular song cover is flumpool's Kimi ni Todoke, which reached 20 million views as of 2025. It is included in his first album, On Your Mark (released on December 2017).Miya made his major label debut in 2018 with the mini album STAR LAND. He quickly rose to fame, and managed to hold a solo concert on Nippon Budokan a year later. Miya previously only used his real name for songwriting credits and use "Miyakawa-kun" as his stage name, but since July 2020 he started using his real name to perform. Aside from his own discography, he also wrote songs for other artists, such as Hey! Say! JUMP and his sister, Miyakawa Airi.Although Miya works primarily in music industry, he has stated that he aims to become a multi-creator. He occasionally appears on SkyPeace's channel, doing various challenges with the YouTuber duo. Miya rarely post videos other than MVs and covers on his own channel, but he likes to do gameplay and chatting livestreams. In February 2025, he started a radio program on his YouTube channel with SkyPeace's Jin, named "Mijiraji!".Other than singing and content creation, Miya also likes to paint and craft terrariums. In 2023, he started his own fashion brand, Etrarium. The brand creates fashion collections using his paintings and terrariums as the concept. They also sell copies of his paintings, and showcase the original piece on their pop-up events.

SkyPeace

YouTuber duo who are friends with Miya since his Vine days. Teo was a Vine video creator, while Jin was a rapper in Nico Nico Douga. Miya was the one who introduced Teo and Jin to each other in 2015, and the three of them made funny videos together in Vine and Mixchannel. A year later, Teo and Jin formed SkyPeace. Miya sometimes appear as guest, and their collab unit name is Temiji, taken from the first syllable of their names.From December 2024, Teo announced hiatus and Miya became a temporary substitute for some of the videos until his comeback on May 2025.

Lime

Miya's childhood friend from Shikinejima who moved to the city and now helps editing videos for Jin's personal channel, JIN DA HOUSE. He doesn't show his face publicly, but sometimes he shows up (either voice only or censored) in Miya's stream, SkyPeace video, and JIN DA HOUSE video. The way he talks and his choice of words are very similar to Miya's, to the point that he can talk to Miya's mom on the phone pretending to be Miya without getting found out.Although he mainly works behind the scene, Miya and Jin often talks about him on SkyPeace videos and in Mijiraji.

Miyakawa Airi / Imoko

Miya's younger sister who became a major label artist in 2019. Before becoming a singer, she sometimes appeared on Miya's videos and livestreams; doing song covers, playing games together, or being pranked by him. Airi also made a guest appearance on Miya's Star Land MV.

Takuto

Japanese singer-songwriter who was active from 2015 to 2019. He collaborated with Miya in 2018, releasing Kamikaze Express, and in 2019, forming a temporary music unit "Only this time" and releasing ANSWER. Both of the songs were used as the opening for Detective Conan anime.

Tanaka (formerly Boku no Lyric no Boyomi)

A singer-songwriter that started his music career from Nico Nico Douga as a rapper. He made his major label debut as Boku no Lyric no Boyomi (often shortened to Bokuriri) in 2015, then retired in 2019 and restarted his activities under the new name Tanaka. Currently, he's active as part of the band "Dios", along with Sasanomaly and Ichika Nito.Tanaka has contributed to several of Miya's songs, such as aNYmORE and Ryakudatsu. He also produced Miya's second full album, Fantasia.

Hanyu Yuzuru

In 2022, Miya was invited as a guest star for the ice show "Fantasy on Ice", where he collaborated with Hanyu Yuzuru to create the "Raison" program. Since then, the two of them became close friends, but Miya still considers himself as Yuzuru's big fan and sometimes talk about Yuzuru on his Twitcast livestream.In 2024, Miya and Yuzuru once again collaborated and released a program based on Miya's song, Last Ambient.

Kimura Masaya

Leader of the J-Pop idol unit "INI", which was formed from the winners of Produce 101 Japan Season 2. Before joining Produce 101, he was Miya's back dancer for MVs and live shows. He can be seen dancing in Idaten Dreamer MV and the live footage of Never Greed from Miya's first live, "secret blue". He's one of the few people who's known to call Miya by his first name (Masaya usually calls him "Taisei-kun").

  • Takatsuka Hiromu (INI member; Masaya's groupmate): fellow aquarium lover, got introduced to Miya from his listeners and now they became aquarium buddies. Hiromu also used Etrarium's clothes for his solo concert poster.

  • Kawasaki Takaya: Japanese singer-songwriter, also an aquarium lover, who got acquittanced to Miya from performing together in a music fes and then asked Miya to do duet cover of his song "Ai no Uta" in 2023.

  • Miya has two main mascot characters: "Whispeeee" and "Vivi". They're often made into live goods etc.

  • He has a fox plushie that he brings with him on lives, events etc. It is a Nitori fox plushie that he named "Kuutan".

  • His favorite color is blue. He named his fan club "secret blue", and his FC fan name, "Salvia", is taken from the name of blue flower that blooms on Shikinejima. He also holds special annual live on his birthday for his fan club members, named "Salvia Party".

  • Back in his utaite era, Miya's persona is depicted to have green eyes and black hair.

  • In the earlier SkyPeace era, everyone has their own signature character items; baseball cap for Teo, glasses for Jin, and band-aid for Miya.

  • He can (and likes to) eat a lot, and often appears on SkyPeace eating challenge. Some of Miya's favorite food are Momoya taberu rayu (chili oil), sausage, and sandwich. He also likes pistachio nuts, but he doesn't really like pistachio desserts. He likes eating sunny side up with mayonnaise.

  • Most of his livestreams are quite long, ranging from 1 to 10 hours. When he does story-based gameplay streams, he usually finish it in one sitting even when it takes 4+ hours. His longest stream to date is Only Up gameplay, which took him 25 hours (split into 4 livestreams).

  • Miya really loves taking care after living things. Since 2019, he's been raising a common squirrel monkey named "Shampoo" (often shortened to Pu-chan). He also keeps many other creatures, including (but not limited to) aquariums, leopard gecko, crickets, frog, and a collection of terrariums that he made himself. He's serious about this hobby; he has aquarist license, and is recently interested in knowing deeper about invasive species in freshwater ecosystem.

  • Miya has driving license, but he's still afraid to drive in the city and can only do it in Shikinejima. He usually takes public transport instead.

  • Miya's family in Shikinejima runs a bike rental + ice cream and souvenir shop named "Manbow". Whenever Miya goes back home, he would help running the shop, making ice cream for customers etc.

  • Manbow's instagram account is run by Miya's mother, and she used her real name (Megumi) for the username.

  • When he was younger, Miya didn't actually like his voice and wasn't confident in his singing skill. Back in Shikinejima, he used to practice singing by going to the sea at night and singing out loud under the starry sky.

  • He was part of the soccer club in his high school. Some of his old videos show him doing lifting and playing soccer with friends.

  • Miya has amazingly strong memory; he remembers all country flags, can randomly throw the exact lines from internet memes without trying, and can blind guess strawberry variants correctly after tasting them.

  • In his Exit 8 livestream, Miya mentioned that he actually studied law and aimed to get judicial scrivener license, but he couldn't keep up and balance it with his music career so he stopped halfway. According to fans information, the university he enrolled into was located in Kashiwa area.

  • Miya loves to talk and has good humor sense. However, he's actually an extreme introvert who claims that he doesn't have many friends, and doesn't go out unless he needs to. Ever since he found out about his MBTI, he always said it's "because he's an INFP".

  • Back when Teo and Jin formed SkyPeace, Miya wasn't informed about it beforehand and it strained their relationship. He stopped talking to them for quite a while, until Jin was injured pretty badly. The three of them have talked about this incident a few times, e.g. in JIN DA HOUSE Christmas Party video. Miya also talked about it on Silk Road's phone call party.

  • Miya claims to not have any secret/private social media account and uses his public accounts to browse and everything. His sub Twitter account DM is open, and he encourages his listeners to send DMs and talk about their day or whatever they want to tell him. He's said that he likes to read the messages in his free time.
